Didn't cost $8000. Adequate for the purpose.Even at the lowest setting of the MPO the headphones squeal if volume is turned up all the way. This is for my elderly dad and I would like it if the MPO could be set lower as that I am concerned he will turn the dial the way and it will begin to squeal. I pretty much have to turn all the controls to the lowest setting to avoid squealing when dial is at maximum level.Easy to get sound & Value for money. I need a earplugs wire my Cat bit the one that came. I need ear plug & goes to electric how much will it cost if I can get one.WOW! First time I found a hearing aid for severe hearing loss that actually works and does 10x the job of even those thousands of dollars hearing aids! I have one ear with 99% hearing loss and I can actually hear again which helps my good ear to understand conversations better. Fantastic!My father who is 94 had this set for over a year. Works really well for someone who is very hard of hearing. Just bought another set because ear pieces and wires had begun to wear out. Price is great.I purchase this for my father with moderate to severe hearing loss.He always used Siemens hearing aid, as it is discontinued. He could not find similar to that.This hearing aid is very good and now he does not complain that we don’t buy him a good hearing aidHappy to see him happy. It is still an amplification so the normal issues of amplification exists.. there is no way around itI really need a hearing aid but bought this to listen to tv at a lower volume. It does work for that, but I also get a lot of ambient noise and the device has a bit of white noise. Ear plugs work when sitting still but would not be a great wildlife amplifier because of the white noise level of the device. While their is a clip on the device, movement and the rubbing of clothing will make the device of limited value. You can sit it on a table or armrest and as long as you are not moving around it does amplify everything. I can not see this device being worn and used at the same time irrespective of the clothing clip. I would have rated higher, had I not had the ambient white noise from the device itself. It really doesn't do what I bought it for very well, but I am able to reduce the TV volume for late night listening.works good, although domes supplies are not small enough.
